Beach Access
The closest beach access to the properties is Ed Walline Park, which is approximately three and a half miles or a five-minute drive from the properties. However, there are many more beach and lake accesses within minutes of our location Beach Accesses. There are also two state parks Topsail and Grayton Park that offer beach and lake access.

Coast Dune Lakes
Make sure you visit our Coast Dune Lakes. The dune lakes exist in very few places in the world and is one of our treasures.

Approximately one-eighth of a mile from the properties is Cessna Landing Park. It is located on Hog-Town Bayou and has two boat ramps, picnic tables, and a basketball court and a playground for young children.
Restaurants
There are way too many restaurants close to our location for us to list all of them. Seafood is the specialty of the area, but you can find almost any kind of food you are looking for. There are fancy five-star restaurants to Chinese and Pizza deliveries. Some of our favorites are:
- Bayou Bills Seafood restaurant. Our go-to restaurant for good seafood.
- The Bay restaurant. Located on Choctawhatchee Bay, this restaurant offers a great outdoor atmosphere for drinking and dining.
- Great Southern Café. Our favorite for breakfast. Something different than the standard bacon and eggs.
Shopping
There is no shortage of shopping within close range of the houses. It doesn’t matter if you are after something quick from the convenience store, want to do full-blown grocery shopping or cruise the local malls or outlets stores a few are:
- Publix grocery store
- Walmart
- Baytown shopping and dining
- Grand Boulevard Shopping mall
- Silver Sands Outlet Mall
- Destin Commons shopping mall
Movie Theaters
For those rainy days (we have very few of them), the area offers two movie theaters. As they are located in large shopping centers, a whole outing can be planned around a good afternoon flick.
Fishing
If you are a fisherman, then have come to the right place. Nearby Destin is nicknamed the luckiest fishing village in the world and is home to a charter fishing fleet in excess of 100 vessels. We fish several times each year during the Destin Fishing Rodeo, which lasts the entire month of October. While there are many boats to choose from, we generally fish on the charter boat Lady Em.
The beaches of South Walton are also prime locations for pompano and whiting in the spring. You do have to go early as pompano are easily spooked and leave the shoreline as soon as swimmers and beachcombers show up.
If bay fishing is your thing, then numerous charters depart from Ed Walline Park, just an eighth of a mile from the properties. Fishing in Choctawhatchee Bay is renowned for Speckled Trout, Redfish, Spanish Mackerel and Jack Crevalle.
